sydneystinge
Well, not really a ’stinge’- I hope to not be stingey, but it’s time I grew up. SydneySynecdoche is going on a budget!
This means:
- no buying new books (hello Library card and Book Depository)
- packing lunch
- buying new clothes from op-shops or Trade Secret ONLY once every two months
- no dinners out that cost more than $30 (which = no steak)
- no more ebay.com
- one coffee a day
- knitting subscription to one magazine only
- handmade presents (except for Christmas)
- no more trips to Melbourne (after the trip in December)
- no more visits to the Opera House (even though Bell Shakespeare are preforming two of my faves)
- only free events at the Sydney Fest
- no more new yarn until my stash has decreased to a value less than $200
- no more ‘gigs’ over $40
- no more car (that’s right, after the Rego expires old Faithful is gone)
- no more cocktail nights
… I can’t think of any more money wasting things. But it’s going to have to happen this way. If I’m ever going to get to South America this is going to happen.
Thus dear friends, though I promise not to become boring, I do promise to find more wallet friendly ways of spending time with you.
Aa – apple
I was browsing a friend of mine’s blog and I found this photograph. Trish is an awesome photographer and when her bestie Michelle had a baby she asked me to knit her an apple beanie. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever made, to go with a very cute baby.
If you’re interested in delightful, hand-made baby wear, let me know and I can send you some options. I usually charge a meal-date, which I usually forget to cash-in. But I love knitting and I love babies in hand-knits.
Librarian : Closure
I wish there was an amazing story to tell filled with adjectives and similies and other abused aspects of communication- but there isn’t.
I said ‘no’.
…in the worst way possible.
We’re sitting in a cafe having lunch on a Friday a few weeks back and the waiter arrives:
“What would you like?”
I reply: “I’d like the grilled haloumi burger with extra olive paste and can you bring water for the table? Thanks. I’m not sure what my FRIEND would like.”
And if that wasn’t clear, we also had a DTR* during the meal.
Sigh, one day that guy who makes me feel like this…
…will come to me. But probably not today… or at least any other day in the next three years. Sigh.
